Why collaborative research?

It is of utmost importance for firms to have a strict approach to waste management. Although, the treatment processes currently available are already highly effective, the increasingly strict regulations and the desire to ensure the better protection of local populations and the environment, require that new thresholds be reached.
The recycling plants and associated industries are in full development and need heavy research investment.

There are several reasons why collaborative research methods are the answer in this area:

Any progress that is to be made in the field of waste management cannot be undertaken without the aid of laboratories that are highly specialised in fields as varied as combustion, toxicology, biology, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, geology, economics, law, communication sciences, etc.
A collaborative financing of all these skill areas results in more cost-effective research for all members.

The development of systems of waste management requires a consensus to be reached between all parties concerned, each with its own, often divergent, area of interest.
The collaborative approach to the subject is a way of enabling consensus to be reached.

Given the current situation, it is necessary to open up to collaborations on both national and international levels.
Here as well, the network structure gives the necessary weight to this type of collaboration.

RECORD is, therefore, a twofold rallying point. On the one hand, that of industrialists and key public players wishing to develop a joint approach to the problem of waste management, and on the other, that of forty or so laboratories nationwide, both university and private, who have decided to contribute to the success of the research programmes. In both cases the list remains open.

What are the advantages of becoming a member?

  • To take part in the selection process on research subjects of general interest, covering all the problems linked to waste and pollutions, and to benefit from all the results at a reduced cost.
  • To contribute to the creation of a scientific basis which will be used as a means of exchange with the public Services, and in the elaboration of different texts for regulations or norms.
  • To have access to exclusive information.
  • To have access to a number of research laboratories in a wide range of disciplines.
  • To, therefore, contribute to the specialisation of a number of laboratories, which provided with the personnel and apparatus necessary, allows them to respond to the specific needs of our members and the world of industry in general.
  • To communicate openly on all the aspects of the problem with the different members.

How to become a member?
